Cannot install flipData into R: "Error: object 'solve' is not exported by 'namespace:CVXR'"

I originally wanted to install flipCluster using the recommended commands
require(devtools)
install_github("Displayr/flipCluster", dependencies = NA)
but this fails when it tries to install flipData, generating the same error message as when I try to install flipData directly by using the command
install_github("Displayr/flipCluster", dependencies = NA)
The full report is copied below but the critical line appears to be
Error: object 'solve' is not exported by 'namespace:CVXR'
I am running R 4.5.1 with RTools 4.5 (6768) on Windows 10 v. 22H2. All 64-bit.

Any resolution to this? Running into this error.

flipData doesn't want to install for me either. I too am getting the same error: "object 'solve' is not exported by 'namespace:CVXR'"

R version 4.5.3
CVXR version 1.8.2
flipData version 1.8.10

Hope there's a solution out there. --tw

I can see the issue. There was a breaking change for CVXR the short term solution is to downgrade the version of CVXR. Long term will be to update the repo for the new API for CVXR

Thank you Justin. That's helpful to know. So, I fetched the tarball of an archived version of CVXR. It wouldn't install. Its exit status was unapologetically non-zero.
