also i know i have to click it when i click nothing happens except for the arrow going from down to up or from up to down

Mac, Windows, or Linux? If on Windows make sure you are using the latest iTunes exe version or Apple Devices from Microsoft store, there is a known bug rn when using really old versions of iTunes on windows
