Syncing player speed with door

I'm experimenting with structures, trying to create something like an elevator. At high speeds, the character starts jumping on the hitbox. I think this can be fixed by increasing the state update rate.

This only happens downwards right? I think I know a fix. Increasing the position update does not work, because this happens per tick. Cannot be increased. The effect appears because the player falls down, lands on the platform motion y is set to zero, but the door keeps moving. Resulting in a small gap until the player accelerates downwards fast enough to hit the platform once more.

A fix would be to not set the motion to zero, but only decrease it to the motion of the door.

It works good with linear or cubic transition, but hermite and cosine do some weird things.

Fixed the second issue. Thanks for figuring that one out. It was quite a serious one.

The other one is hard to solve. I cannot tell for sure, but I think it depends on the order of the entities to update.
For example the player ticks first and moves into the door (basically does not move at all). Then the door moves further below. All of a sudden there is gap, which is closed by the next tick, but the door moves again.

This could be easily solved by making the door move first and then the entity. Problem is that this is currently out of my control. Not sure how to work around that. I will have to investigate more, but for now I just wanted to push the other fix.

Probably, you can stick player entity to an "elevator" completely, e.g. how it's done in Create moving structures. So, you can't move with controls while not holding shift.
And, I think there should be an option (checkbox) like "stick player to vertically moving doors"

This sticking feature will be for other types in the future. Animations will never be sticky.
