Clarify Usage of WordPress Hosted on a Different Server #6

Description

@ahassoun

The documentation here mentions:

If you are using Tutor for managing your Open edX instance, you can install tutor-contrib-wordpress and use its commands assist with the configuration and integration of the Open edX platform with an existing WordPress site.

However, following the current installation guide, Tutor’s WordPress container starts a fresh local WP instance. How to integrate an existing WordPress setup running on a separate VPS is unclear. Users might expect to “attach” Tutor to an external WP without having to migrate or duplicate their site into a new container.

Proposed Solution

  • Update documentation to explain how to either:
    1. Disable the Tutor’s local WordPress container and keep using an external WP, or
    2. Migrate an existing external WP site into the Tutor Docker environment.

This clarification will reduce confusion for those already hosting WordPress elsewhere.
