version conflict when installing python-novaclient

When installing python-novaclient through pip:

$ pip install python-novaclient

I get the following error:

pkg_resources.VersionConflict: (setuptools 0.9.8 (/Users/ivansek/.envs/distributed-jmeter-github-test/lib/python2.7/site-packages), Requirement.parse('setuptools>=17.1'))

Python version: 2.7
pip version: 1.4.1

The solution is to upgrade setuptools:

$ pip install setuptools --upgrade
