Window Buttons Too Small and Missing Borders on Sides/Bottom

Hello,

I’m using this theme on LMDE Cinnamon, and I’ve noticed some problems with how the window decorations appear:

• The maximize, minimize, and close buttons are much too small. Only part of each button is displayed, making them hard to see and click.

• Additionally, the borders on the left, right, and bottom sides of the window are missing. Only the top border (titlebar area) appears as expected.

This seems to be a compatibility issue with Cinnamon’s window manager, as other themes show the buttons and borders correctly. I’ve checked for a cinnamon folder and cinnamon.css in the theme, but the issue persists.

Could you please update the theme to better support Cinnamon, or provide guidance on how to fix these issues?

A few years ago, support for the older window decorations was dropped from Cinnamon. Newer versions render window buttons and titlebars based on the GTK theme.

In your case, you'd probably want to look at the window button sizing and padding in gtk-4.0/gtk.css or gtk-3.20/gtk.css.

To tweak the distance between the title buttons, you can tweak the headerbar's padding.

Regarding window borders, they are technically possible (for example, Windows-95 has them), but they're a bit of a hack, and might cause some problems with tiled or maximized windows.

I'm not currently able to push a fix for a lack of time to work on themes, unfortunately.

Thank you for your response. This was helpful.
I found out that Linux Mint Debian Edition uses Cinnamon version 6.4.8.
In this case it uses gtk 3.20. In your theme the gtk.css does not have window button sizing and padding in it, therefore it uses the default size.

I added the following to gtk.css at the end to make it look better:
headerbar button.titlebutton, .titlebar button.titlebutton { min-width: 17px; min-height: 17px; padding: 2px; icon-size: 21px; margin: 0 -2px; }
