ncdump cannot read GUNW product metadata

I tend to use ncdump -h to quickly look at netCDF product metadata, but GUNW products (from HyP3; haven't check any in CMR yet) fail with an:

This product does open fine with Panoply, so I'm not sure exactly what's going on.

I haven't played with this much -- it could be an install problem on my side, or a missing library. I'm opening this issue mostly as a reminder to look into it.
