No longer works on Copilot?

I was testing this out in copilot with sonnet 4 as the agent. It was working fine for the first few hours until it just decided to stop working..

The agent just terminate itself after the first round when it is supposed to be continuing active task monitoring..

Anyone has similar experience?

Hi! I rarely encounter this issue. I'd recommend restarting VS Code and start in new chat session. Let me know if it still persist. Also, which mode/option are you using?

Yes the issue is still persisting intermittently.... worked for a while but can't seem to run forever like it previously did.
I have a feeling it might trigger when we are both reading/updating the same file? I need more test to confirm that.

Try pasting the prompt from tasksync.md directly in chat instead of telling it to follow tasksync.md

Hey, I tested it with Sonnect, and after the second or third task it just stops, tries to summarize everything, and then ends. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

Can you try again on new chat? Also, try using it as custom chat mode. It is much better that way in my experience.

It can happen when copilot did not look for the file when you initialized it, make sure you added the recommended rules prompt as instructions.

Also, I made a new TaskSync V5 that I am currently testing. Please test it out also and let me know your experience. This one uses python command python -c "task = input('')"

Hey, I added the instructions, and it does work, but after a few calls, it fails to find the file again. Is there a way to force it?

I also tried V5, it works a bit better, but after a few tasks, it still gets stuck. It seems to happen when I ask it to build a system or handle multiple/complex tasks, but with simple ones (like changing a color or doing a quick search) it works fine. At least that’s what I noticed.

I see. The issue must be the context window. From my experience, it often stops when you ask it to make a whole project in one prompt, like you said. This must be the limitation of TaskSync. Going forward, I suggest turning your prompt into a task list instead of asking it to build the whole system in one go. Lastly, I think it will help if you ask it again to read the TaskSync prompt (I haven’t tried, but in theory that should help Claude Sonnet 4 remember not to end the chat).

Here's how you can make it consistent to use the feedback file from workspace. Make sure the directory path in mcp json is correct.

Terminal requires continuous/non-stop command running and can handle versioning that is inconsistent with the policy operator and the entire working environment.
Auto-spamming commands like python -c "task = input('')" does not guarantee reproducibility and can cause side effects on Windows/PowerShell environments if you have not specifically requested it.
